webinar: beyond bale grazing: optimizing dormant season supplemental feeding for livestock performance
Cost: free
Join Us for a free webinar: Beyond Bale Grazing: Optimizing Dormant Season Supplemental Feeding for Livestock Performance and Soil Health.
As many of us prepare to buy and/or grow hay this year, we invite you to join our two panelists, Brian Alexander aka the Red Hills Rancher from Sun City Kansas and Cameron King of King Farms Land and Cattle of Malin, Oregon for a deep dive into everything related to feeding and growing winter supplementation regeneratively.
Brian and Cameron have two very different contexts, operations, and a wide array of expertise to share. We’ll explore the principles and practices each has used to maximise their investments in winter feeding supplementation to regenerate soils and maintain high-quality cattle all year. Brian will also discuss how hay fits into his mine reclamation project.
There will also be a Q&A session for those joining us live. Register to get early access to the recording.
Who Should Attend: This webinar is ideal for anyone who feeds hay, grows hay, and/or works on highly degraded ground. As well as any farmers, ranchers, and agricultural professionals committed to holistically enhancing their winter feeding strategies to invest in their land, animals, and pocketbook.

Cameron King:
Cameron King is a dedicated rancher and farmer, serving as the owner and manager of King Farms Land & Cattle in Malin, Oregon. Growing up on his family’s alfalfa hay farm, Cameron learned the ins and outs of agriculture from a young age, mastering irrigation techniques and equipment operation. By age 15, he developed a passion for cattle, which led him to purchase his own cows at 16.
After high school, Cameron served in the United States Marine Corps, where he honed his leadership skills. Upon returning home, he initially worked for a large-scale farm specializing in diverse crops before rejoining his family farm. Together with his father, he expanded their operations to include over 3,000 acres of hay and 500 cow-calf pairs.
In recent years, after facing significant challenges such as drought and market fluctuations, Cameron adopted holistic management practices on the farm with support from UVE. Now in their second year of implementing these methods, he has eliminated fertilizers and chemicals, greatly decreased dependence on irrigation, and achieved remarkable results that challenge local expectations. Cameron has learned that use of hay and hay growing can be a powerful force in the regeneration of soils alongside holistic planned grazing.
